Blåkläder Darts Open: New Name and Extra Tickets on Sale

Golazo

Blåkläder, one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of workwear, will become title partner of Belgium’s biggest international darts tournament for at least two years. The Blåkläder Darts Open is the new name of the Belgian Darts Open. The second edition of the tournament will take place at the Oktoberhallen in Wieze from 5 to 7 May 2023. An additional 2,000 tickets go on sale today.

The main tournament of the Blåkläder Darts Open (the Belgian leg of the PDC European Tour) starts on Friday 5 May and will culminate on Sunday 7 May. That is when we will find out who succeeds Englishman Dave Chisnall for the title. On Thursday 4 May, the Belgian Qualifiers will take place. The two best players of this preliminary tournament will secure a place on the main table of the Blåkläder Darts Open, which consists of 48 players.

“Everyone can name a few top darts players these days. But did you know what their job was before they became darts pros? World Champion Peter Wright was a construction worker, Dutch world number one Michael van Gerwen was a tiler, and our own Belgian number 1 Dimitri Van Den Bergh was a lift technician. And the list just goes on,” says Mathew Vandorpe, Managing Director Blåkläder Benelux & UK. “This collaboration immediately puts us in the right target group. All these top players were workmen, manual workers, men who knew how to roll up their sleeves. And we dress them. If that doesn’t make this a wedding made in heaven, I don’t know what does!”

EXTRA TICKETS

16,000 tickets for the main tournament have already been sold. Today at noon, an additional 2,000 tickets will go on sale, including 1,000 for the afternoon session on Friday 5 May and 1,000 divided over the other sessions. A few more tickets may be added in the spring, but this will only be a small number. So be quick!

All matches of the Blåkläder Darts Open 2023 edition will be broadcast live on VTM2 like this year.
